Hamilton Ontario is a beautiful city with the poplulation of 504550. The city was conceived in 1812 by George Hamilton and become the centre of region called Golden Horseshoe. Hamilton Ontario has been listed as the ninth largest city in Canada and third largest in Ontario. Hamilton is located in Southern Ontario on the western end of the Niagara Peninsula and is a home to more than 100 waterfalls and cascades. It is been called the Waterfalls Capital of the World. Our favorite Hamilton waterfall is Albion Falls in the East part of Hamilton and Webster Falls in Dundas. With sixty percent of Canada's steel being produced in Hamilton by Stelco & Dofasco in the past the city has also become known as Steel Capital of Canada. Now Health Sciece is become Hamilton #1 employer. On January 1st, 2001 the new city of Hamilton was formed (through the amalgamation) and it now consist of Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth and its six municipalities: Anacaster, Dundas, Flamborough, Glanbrook and Stoney Creek also known as Areas of Hamilton.
Hamilton is home to few post-secondary institutions like McMaster University with over 22000 enrolled students, Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology, Brock University-Hamilton campus, Columbia International College, Redeemer University College and College Boreal. The city is also home to a state-of-the -art health care system with its great teaching hospitals.
Hamilton has representation in two professional sports leagues, the Canadian Football League with Hamilton Tiger Cats and American Hockey League with Hamilton Bulldogs.
